About Little Millet
Little millet is used across India — as Sama during fasting in the north and as a staple grain in parts of the south.
Its small size means it cooks fast and blends easily into porridge, upma and khichdi without any special technique.
How to Cook
- Rinse 1 cup millet in cool water.
- Soak 15–20 minutes (optional).
- Cook with 2.5 cups water — 2 whistles, or 12–15 minutes on the stovetop.
- Fluff gently; it softens further as it rests.
